"For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited me in". — Matthew 25:35
Destiny's Family Thanksgiving Day On January 10, 2026, the Destiny Foundation and Shalom Kelebet Congregation came together for a joyous occasion:
The 2nd Annual Thanksgiving Day of our Destiny Family.
This uplifting event marked two years of dedicated partnership aimed at supporting destitute and vulnerable elderly individuals. The 23 members of “Destiny’s family” receiving unconditional cash transfers and essential medical assistance each month, directly addressing their pressing needs and improving their quality of life.
The gathering was well attended, with over 35 participants, including beneficiaries, coordinators from Shalom Kelebet, church elders, and honored guests. Among the special attendees were Emishaw Tekola and his wife Akberet, visionaries from the Destiny Foundation, who traveled from the Netherlands to be part of this meaningful celebration.
The day was filled with inspiring moments, highlighted by reflections on the Word of God. Rev. Teshome shared a powerful message from Mark 9:23, proclaiming, "If you can?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for one who believes." This scripture inspires faith that overcomes obstacles in our service to the needy. Emishaw Tekola also emphasized a vital principle from Philippians 2:4: “Not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” This verse underscores selflessness as the heartbeat of our initiative, shifting the focus from personal gain to collective care and reminding us of our collective responsibility. Each testimony shared during the event reminded us of our divine purpose to care for one another. As we celebrate this milestone, we renew our commitment to expanding our efforts.
The partnership between Destiny Foundation and Shalom Kelebet reminds us that together, we can significantly impact the lives of those in need. Let’s stay committed to serving and uplifting those in need, embodying the love and generosity that Jesus exemplified. Together, let’s walk in faith and purpose, supporting one another in our divine mission. Together, we honor the spirit of compassion that unites us all.

The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” – Mahatma Gandhi
